Pogil - Process Oriented Guided Inquiry Learning

Karen Anderson

Karen has a B.S. in biology from the University of Puget Sound and an M.S. in microbiology from Montana State University. She is currently chair of the chemistry department at Madison Area Technical College (MATC) and teaches chemistry courses to students in health-related fields and to non-majors. In addition to being a member of the POGIL Steering Committee, she has co-facilitated POGIL workshops, and is actively involved with faculty development workshops that provide growth opportunities for staff from across her college. She has 7 years combined experience as coordinator of a high school to college student success bridge program (Learning to Learn camps), and was awarded MATC's Distinguished Teaching Award in 2000. She recently joined the author team for the next edition of the ACS sponsored text Chemistry in Context.
