Megan Hoffman

Hoffman earned a B.A. from Dartmouth College and a Ph.D. in Biological Sciences (Neural Sciences) from Washington University in St. Louis. Hoffman is an associate professor in the Biology Program at Berea College in Kentucky. She teaches a variety of courses in Biology, as well as the General Studies science course for non-majors and a freshman writing course. In recent years, Hoffman has moved away from her laboratory research on nerve and muscle development to pursue a growing interest in the scholarship of teaching and learning. Her current investigations center on student-centered learning and on conversations between science and religion.  Hoffman has served in a variety of campus roles related to faculty development, including four years as director of the Berea College Center for Learning, Teaching, Communication and Research, and as faculty mentoring coordinator for the Division of Natural Science, Nursing and Mathematics.
